Flexible Schedule Class
This flexible math class runs year-round and lets students learn any course of mathematics on their own schedule. Any of the following math classes can be chosen:
• 6th Grade Math
• 7th Grade Math
• 8th Grade Math
• Prealgebra
• Algebra 1
• Geometry
• Algebra 2
• Trigonometry
• Precalculus
• Calculus
• Financial Algebra (Business and Accounting)
You can choose the level of math instruction or I can help determine where your student should start. I have full end-of-course exams for each math level and we can use my "Meet the Teacher" class to do in-person assessments.
Once chosen, each student receives their own unique instructional path. I do not assign busy work nor do I require that students complete every assigned problem. When it is clear that a student has mastered a concept, we move forward. When they are struggling, I create extra instructional videos and more practice.
The work is differentiated to provide the level of instruction each student needs. Lessons are delivered with videos using Zoom Whiteboard and Google Slides.
A new session of this class starts every week. The class session lasts 8 weeks and students can re-enroll as many times as they need to complete a full year of instruction.
In general, it takes anywhere from 4 to 5 sessions (a total of 32 to 40 weeks) to complete a full year of any math subject from the beginning. This class runs year-round, so students can attend the 5 school year sessions and the 1 summer session if they choose.
